[ AI ] dancer (2020)
[ AI ] dancer is a research between dance and artificial intelligence that explores the potentialities of training a computer program through recorded dance improvisation. Sombreff creates an algorithm which is trained by Biskas’ skeleton tracking data out of a large database of dance video material divided into numerous short movement sequences (samples https://vimeo.com/401258560, https://vimeo.com/401145957).
The algorithm predicts what is the best follow up sequence in relation to the previous one, re-composing the dancer’s improvisations based on its training.
